Description
Developed in Partnership with Experts
The FABS (Flexibility, Aerobics, Balance, Strength) Training Programme was created in collaboration with the Centre for Healthy Ageing Research at the University of Birmingham. This comprehensive programme offers a versatile approach to exercise, suitable for teaching in both seated and standing positions, allowing you to reach a wider audience. It is endorsed by
CIMSPA with 10 CPD points and
EMD UK who offer a bursary for 65% towards your training.
Blended Learning for a Comprehensive Experience
Our programme features 20 hours of guided eLearning with step-by-step video tutorials and downloadable manuals, followed by two days of face-to-face or Zoom-based practical training. – Teach a variety of exercises, including seated, supported, and standing routines.
– Understand the physical changes associated with ageing and how to adapt exercises to accommodate these changes.
– Motivate older adults to stay active and adhere to a regular exercise routine.
– Design and lead engaging exercise sessions that are safe, effective, and fun.
– Use simple choreography to create energetic routines that promote social interaction.
– Modify exercises for individual needs and abilities.
– Evaluate sessions for effectiveness and plan progressive training.

Carole –
A brilliant course would highly recommend it to friends and colleagues.
Joanna –
I was very impressed how Belinda delivered the course to us all. Her knowledge, experience and teaching was brilliant. I found learning from Belinda very inspirational. I am so glad that I have taken the course. I know the feeling that things feel impossible to do, after recently finding out I have osteoarthritis in the hips and psoriasis arthritis. So I know the importance of exercise and strengthening muscles and ligaments around the joints. I hope I too will able to help people who are in a similar position. Thank you very much to Belinda and the team at Move it or Lose it.
Claire –
I had a great weekend and learnt so much. I can’t wait to put it into practice.
The course was very well structured.
Sandra was very clear and concise.
Janis –
Everything was excellent from the quality of the e-learning through to the manual downloads. There was always someone available to contact if needed. On the actual training weekend the trainer was excellent. She was very reassuring throughout and gave lots of advice and corrections where necessary.
Lyndsey –
Wonderful tutor with vast experience and knowledge with an infectious personality.
Susan –
The course trainer was an excellent tutor, made the course very enjoyable and very professional. This course actually gives you the skills to go away and teach unlike others that are more theory based.
Richard –
Very much enjoyed the course and would recommend to any future potential instructor.
